All Surrey Cricket Clubs produce and publish a 5-Year Plan. This is developed and agreed by your committee and signed off by Surrey Cricket Foundation (SCF) annually. This document is used by SCF to assist in the allocation of funds across all recreational clubs.

The 5-Year Plan agreed last month is attached - see below. The responsibility for implementing this plan lies not only with your Committee but with every member of the club. Everyone is expected to focus on ensuring that as many of the targets identified in this plan as possible are achieved.

Please read the full plan but the key points are:

• Continue to work at developing a girl’s section. Speak to local clubs for ideas and initiatives.
• Recruit more women/girls to ensure women field a complete XI for every fixture.
• Engage with parents and other volunteers to take on admin roles and to help with umpiring and scoring and other admin tasks.
• Continue to explore the possibility of developing, along with the trustees, Laleham Village Recreation Ground for 5th XI cricket.
• Identify a solution for a shelter for scorers’ facility on the main square.
• Add new scorebox and electronic scoreboard for second pitch plus power for a bowling machine in the nets.
• Explore what is required to add Pitch Vision/Frog Box technology to the main ground. All aspects need to be fully considered.
• Draft an EDI Plan. An EDI sub-committee has been appointed.
• Review all ACC policies and codes of conduct and update, as necessary.
• Greatly improve the knowledge of the Safeguarding ‘rules’ within the membership, especially the players.
• Work with the parent company, A(SL)S, to maximise usage of Short Lane facilities and increase revenue at the site as a whole. Try to understand why playing members are not using the facilities outside match times.

This plan will be a key document when the Committee meets for its monthly meetings. It will be reviewed at the end of the season and re-issued.
