It is with great sadness that Ashford Cricket Club announces the death of Alan Hudson aged 78. He died in St Peter's hospital Chertsey on Monday October 29th following a collapse at home a couple of weeks ago. He died of pneumonia.
Alan had been a member of Ashford Cricket Club for many years. He followed in his father Doug's footsteps when he joined Ashford. He first played for the club in the early 1950s as a junior member and he was a regular 2nd XI player in the late 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. He captained the 2nd XI in 1976 and he played on both Saturdays and Sundays during the peak of his career. He retired from cricket in the early 1980s.
In his time at Ashford he was Match Secretary between 1962 - 1966 and he was awarded the Alan Dedman Rosebowl for services off the field in 1978.
Alan's funeral is on Tuesday 20th November 12 noon at Hanworth Crematorium and afterwards at Ashford Cricket Club, Short Lane, Stanwell, Middlesex, TW19 7BQ.
